Strength training (also known as resistance exercise) increases muscle strength by making muscles work against a weight or force. Resistance exercise is considered a form of anaerobic exercise. Different forms of strength training include using your own body weight, free weights, weight machines, resistance bands and plyometrics.

Power training is a type of exercise that focuses on how fast you can move resistance, rather than how much resistance you can move. It’s a way of doing strength training that emphasizes overcoming resistance as fast as possible.
